Are your parents fretting about you leaving home?

By TerSL 01 Aug 2018

While you are really excited, if a little nervous, about coming to Uni, there are lots of different ways your parents may be reacting to it all.

  • Some might be counting the days till you leave so they can re-use your bedroom or have a bit of quiet in the house.
  • Others could be worrying and fussing over every little thing.
  • Maybe they are getting very emotional, bringing out old baby pictures and saying how they 'cannot believe you have grown up so quickly'?
  • Or are they tearing their hair out wondering how they can help you as they are not sure if you will not be able to cope without them by your side?

If yours are not sure what to do with themselves - let them help (they are good at it after all).

Why not signpost your folks to our Parent Information web page and put them to good use.

After all it's a watershed moment for them as well as you, you know.  Show them the page and watch them jump into action - It'll keep them busy and those baby pictures at bay...until your wedding day at least.
