Call out for LGBT+ poets and spoken word artists

By LisaSL 07 Feb 2017

‘Looking Back, Looking Forward’ is a LGBT project commemorating 50 years since the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in the UK.

The organisers are looking for 18 poets and spoken word artists to produce new pieces of work on the themes of looking back, looking at life now, and to what LGBT+ life might be like in 50 years time.

Any work commissioned will be showcased at three special events throughout 2017 and there will also be open mic slots available for those who want to read their own work.

  • The first event will look at look at experiences of LGBT+ life pre 1967.
  • The second in July will look at life now
  • The third will look forward to imagine what LGBT+ life might be like in 50 years time.

Want to get involved or submit work?
