Halls

Charity begins in halls

By LisaSL 05 Jul 2018

A huge thank you for all the donations received across our halls of residence over the last few weeks from students moving out. We have collected an enormous amount of food, clothes, toiletries and even a Christmas tree!

All food items have been taken to the Hope Centre in Derby which helps vulnerable people around the city and the clothes and accessories have been donated to the British Heart Foundation for them to sell in their charity shops.

Lisa Varley our Residence Life Co-ordinator collected the items together from all halls.  She said:

Each year we see an increase in donations from our students and we are overwhelmed at the support they show to these very worthwhile causes. The items go such a long way to supporting people who really need them. It makes the team at Student Living extremely proud

We would like to say a huge thank you to Cathedral Court staff and students in particular who went above and beyond and have been collecting throughout the year. A whole van load of items were donated from Catherdal Court alone!

Thank you all and keep up the good work!
