  • Derby Christmas Chilli Fiesta

Venue: The Silk Mill Museum

Join in this lip smacking, mouth burning, mind blowing and ice melting day of chilli mayhem!

Dine, drink, taste and purchase chilli products as well as watch the “Clash of The Titans” chilli eating competition!  Find out more 

  • A Very (Un)Grimm Christmas Fayre!

Venue: Pickford House

Date: 2 December 

Time: 10am – 4pm

Cost:  FREE but donations welcome. Every pound raised will be doubled by the Heritage Lottery Fund to support the Derby Museums Endowment

Once upon a time… Pickford’s House came to life with the festive sights and sounds of a Georgian Christmas! Join in and get into the Christmas spirit at this annual favourite, this year inspired by the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales, first published in 1812. Enjoy family activities inspired by the Grimm Brothers’ household tales, visit Santa and enjoy festive food and drink all with a sprinkle of fairy tale magic this Christmas.

  • Christmas Chatter

Venue: Museum & Art Gallery

Date: 28 December 2017

Time: 2pm -3pm

Tickets: £2.50 students plus additional booking fee

A lighthearted discussion of what art is. Jonathan Wallis, Head of Museums, leads the discussion that will hopefully wake up the mind after the Christmas festivities. Discuss the definition of art from the earliest times to today.
