Bank account looking a bit too healthy? Taking a 'spree' to another level the Intu Shopping centre has hundreds of shops including high street names and designer boutiques.
Smack bang in the middle of the University Quarter, Markaeton Park is great for a game of pitch and putt. Or, you could watch the light railway and visit the Craft Centre. The free firework display in November is an absolute must!
Sunny day activities don't always have to start and end in the pub! Round up the flat, raid the cupboards for some picnic supplies and savour this fantastic park. It's a tranquil place to clear the cobwebs from your mind or take some revision books (the intention was there). And in winter it's absolutely brilliant for sledging!
Fish out your lycra and head for Rollerworld. This is one of the biggest maple-floored rinks in the country. There's also a cafe and licensed bar.
QUAD is an independent Cinema, Gallery, Café Bar, Digital resource and Workshop that anyone can use. This creative hub connects people and businesses to art and film. With a relaxed and friendly environment, it's the perfect place to go to be focused, creative and around like-minded people!

Live music venues
Get to a gig at one of Derby's intimate music venues, featuring local bands and alternative artists worldwide. Head for The Flower Pot, The Venue, The Victoria Inn, The Hairy Dog, The Vaults or the Book Cafe for a great night out.
Are you a pro climber or maybe fancy giving it a go? Derby has a great indoor rock climbing centre with huge walls, routes and bouldering. Discounts available with the uni climbing society on Mondays.
With over 315 sightings of ghosts in the city, Derby is the most haunted place in the UK! In fact, SO scary that tours are run by Richard Felix from the TV show Most Haunted. See if you can spot anything starting at the Old Bell hotel and ending with a hunters supper.
